Y.H.S. ACADEMIC DECATHLON TEAM MAKES IT NINTH IN A ROW!!!

 

 

Congratulations to our A.D. team who took FIRST PLACE in Madera County for the ninth consecutive year last Saturday at Madera High, South Campus.

 

Led by six seniors---CHAD BRYSON, ALEK BOHIGIAN, AMY JOHNSON, NICOLE KOCZANOWICZ, LUKE MILLAR, and AMY SPENCER, and second-year coach, DEBORAH BROWN, assisted by BETSY BLUM, the team amassed 30,145 points to bring home the trophy.

 

Other team members include juniors---JORDAN FOWLER and MARISSA MARTIN, and sophomore, MICHAEL MC CARTY.

 

NICOLE received four gold medals in Speech, Music, Language & Literature, and Art and $400 for the gold medals and a silver medal in Interview.  In addition, she received $100 for being our top senior team member.  LUKE received silver medals in Mathematics and Economics and a bronze medal in Interview.  ALEK earned a gold medal in Super Quiz and bronze medals in Economics and Art.  AMY JOHNSON won a silver medal in Economics and bronze medals in Music and Art.  MARISSA picked up a silver medal in Social Science and JORDAN a silver medal in Language & Literature, while MICHAEL was awarded a bronze medal in Economics.

 

Good luck to our team as they travel to Modesto on March 6th to compete in the State A.D. competition.
