Coach says wrestling not like other sports

Wrestling is an extremely hard sport and it’s not like other sports, according to Coach Kent Lincoln. The wrestling team has 30 to 35 boys, and one female. Of those 35 the top wrestlers are Micah Stansbury, Manuelito Gellegos, Dan Larsen, and Tim Springer, the coach says.

“They are all at their own individual levels and different mentality,” say Coach Lincoln. On Tuesday and Thursday there are little dual meets, but on Saturday they have tournaments, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The goals as individuals are to win the Sierra Sequoia Division. As a team it’s to win Central Sequoia League. Coach Lincoln says the overall team this year is above average and very competitive.

What he would like to see this year from his wrestlers, is for their characters to develop and as well as their wrestling skills. He also wants to see a positive environment.
