Work is underway on new athletic fields

Work is underway on the future baseball fields at Yosemite High School. Dirt from the site will be exported to the site of the future music building and, later, to the site of the future swimming pool. After some wetland issues are resolved, work will begin on two softball fields in the same area. Kevyn Moberly, director of maintenance, operations and transportation, said the baseball fields will be ready for use next year. A sprinkler system will be put in during the development project. Money for development of the ball fields is coming from the bond that voters passed in 1998. Other projects funded with the bond are the new cafeteria/multi-purpose room, the expanded locker rooms, the parking area and renovation of the library/media center, science building and the administration building.
