Could technology be the thing that ends the world?
People act as if they would die if they didn’t have technology....

Let me ask you, can you think back and remember when technology, such as computers and the Internet, was not around? Of course not.

In the last five years technology has come further than ever before. You sometimes hear about how the world is coming to an end. How do we know but what it could be the very technology we have created that brings the human race to an end? The truth of the matter is this could really happen.

Seriously, when you stop and think about how everything runs by computer: planes, digital cameras and don’t forget the military and all of their weapons, including rockets and bombs. Think about how people have actually been killed by technology.

You buy a TV, you sit in front of that TV almost non-stop doing nothing but eating. You will die, the reason being obesity. It may be a chain of events, buy you will die. That is one way technology can kill you; bet you never even thought of that, did you.

People in our world today act as though they would die if they didn’t have technology, although looking into the past, think of all the people who survived without it.

That’s why our world today has become weak. If there was a survey done at YHS I guarantee you around 80 percent of the students would tell you they couldn’t survive without their computer or camcorder or even their calculator for their math work.

If the people of the past didn’t need technology like we have, then why do we need the technology we have?

Alright, alright, I realize lots of jobs depend on technology. I just don’t think we should be this dependent.

I also realize that anything to do with technology is a machine and it isn’t human. That doesn’t stop me from thinking that one day technology will take over. The world we know now will be lost and gone forever.

To stop this from happening, to keep the world as we know it right now, this very moment we have to stop. Stop depending on technology and all that it has to offer. We have to rely on ourselves and what we know. The people of the world have to stop watching TV 24 hours a day and they have to stop sitting in front of the computer hour after hour.

I am not griping at everyone because I have also fallen victim and have done the same things. I’m just saying we need action before the time to take action is not there anymore.

The fact that technology could destroy us many not happen tomorrow, next week or it may not even happen in the next two years, but I do know if technology continues in its manner we may all be doomed.

Let’s take action, let’s not sit and wait for it to happen. Why should we? We were here first. We created everything technology is. Now we get to watch and see if man can destroy the thing he has created.
