Assistant Principal Randy Haggard
and SheriffJohn Anderson congratulate Ronnie Miears on winning the grand prize
for the Shining Stars program which recognizes students for their perfect
attendance record.
Yosemite High School now has a way to reward
students who have excellent attendance records. The Shining Stars program is
for students who have no absences, tardies, or truancies between December 3,
2001 and January 31, 2002. These students will be able to participate in a
drawing that could allow them to win any number of prizes.
Students who
had perfect attendance last month were able to win prizes such as a Winter
Formal package and also being escorted to each of the student's classes by a
custodial cart. This time, there are two different grand prizes for students of
the junior and senior classes, and the freshmen and sophomore classes.
If the grand prizewinner is a freshman or a
sophomore, he or she will win a 2001-2002 yearbook. If the student is a junior
or senior, however, they will receive a pair of prom bids.
Other prizes include movie tickets, video
rentals, music and book certificates, and four lift passes to Badger Pass
skiing.
Students who have perfect attendance will be
at a drawing today, February 8, at lunch in the new cafeteria. Students from
this drawing and the drawing last month will then be put into a final drawing
at the end of the year where they can win some "Big prizes" says
Randy Haggard who is the Assistant Principal and coordinator of the Shining
Stars program.
