For five years Walker Vaughn has been coaching track at Yosemite High School. He believes that this team is already as good as champions. "We have a really good chance of both boys and girls track getting in and winning league," commented Vaughn.

A good coach always uses goals for his or her team in order for them to succeed. "My basic goals are that I want my athletes to not only be good on the field but I want my players to be good students and people first and foremost," says Vaughn on the goals he has for the good of his team.

Vaughn says that when he was growing up, he thought of track as more of a sport rather than an obsession. He chooses to coach track because of the individual aspect of the sport. It was also his sport in college. He set four or five individual records while a student at YHS but athletes he has coached, Adam Cox and David Turpin, have surpassed them all.

Vaughn hopes to have a good season with the upcoming track team this year.
