Linda
Robison, the Yosemite High School advisor for the Future Business Leaders
of America (FBLA) organization, was named the Advisor of the Year for
California at the group’s recent state meeting.
Robison has been the club’s advisor for almost 20 years. She attended
her first FBLA conference as a student teacher in 1981.
Prior to being named the top advisor in the state, Robison had won the
title for the Central Section.
Approximately 1300 students from 120 schools attended the conference.
Seventeen of those students were from YHS.
Brian Troutner placed ninth in the state in the job interview category.
The school’s parliamentary procedure team also competed. Members
of that team were Brittany Tidwell, Alex Michel, Jenna Barney, Jessica
Veater and Courtney Anderson.
Other areas in which students competed were business communication,
introduction to business, and computer technology.
Robison teaches computer classes and is a facilitator in the EAST (Environmental
and Spatial Technology) laboratory at YHS.
