High school students deserve to enjoy life

During their high school years, young people are expected to do much more than they ever have before. Extra curricular activities become extremely time consuming and make it difficult to stay caught up with homework. Many students are also involved in a place of employment. All these activities make sleep a precious and rare occasion for many students. Should high school students be expected to be involved in extra activities as well as a place of work and still maintain a social life and moderate grade point average?

I don't think that students should be expected to do so much at such a young age. Young people need to have time to rest, and with all the expectations placed upon students today it's difficult for them to find time to hang out with friends or even go to sleep at a decent hour. I believe that in high school, students are young and they deserve to enjoy life. They shouldn't have to worry about all the pressures of a job and school and extra curricular activities.

Students will have time to be grown up and stressed out once they have graduated from high school.

I think that society should allow kids to have fun while they are young and have the time and energy. Life is too short to spend stressing about circumstances that are beyond your control. Students should be expected to get good grades, but while they're in high school that is their job and that's all that should be expected. It is okay to just go to school and enjoy spending time with friends, while you're in high school that is what life should be about.
