YHS girls tennis team does well as coaches share duties

The girls’ tennis team at Yosemite High School has two coaches. Stan Lawrence is the Tuesday through Friday coach and the game coach. Mark VanOrnum is Monday’s coach and he works with the team on how to position their bodies and be prepared for the ball.

VanOrnum says he enjoys playing and coaching tennis and he likes to see players improve. He said this season is going well; people are working hard and having fun. He says the girls work hard and, he jokes, they must be very outgoing because they are very talkative.

He says the girls have spirit and a good attitude toward the game.
