Theater Arts students in annual drama competition

Students in the Theater Arts Department are at the Mother Lode Drama Festival April 25-27.

The students will be competing in three categories against 15 other schools from northern and central California.

The students will perform the one act play, Canadian Gothic, and compete by performing either two monologues or scenes from published plays.

The students who are competing at the Sutter Creek event are Jessica Knotts, Josh Odom, Anna Tompkins, Andrzej Zabicki, Bryan Guadagnini, Ashley Newton, Amanda Bridgford, Evelyn Livermore and Lesley Macdonald.

On May 16 and 17, the YHS Theater Arts Department will present one act plays directed and performed by YHS students. There will be six plays performed from Theater Arts I, Theater Arts II and Advanced Theater Arts.

The performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the drama room. Tickets are $3.
