Coarsegold District students participated in the MESA

C oarsegold District students participated in the MESA (Math, Engineering and Science Achievement) field day at California State University, Chico recently. Billy Green brought home a silver medal in pre-algebra. There are 80 MESA centers in California, Arizona and Nevada. The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians is one of these centers that enrolls Native American and other students from Coarsegold Union School District, Bass Lake Union School District and Yosemite Joint Union High School District. MESA students also have an opportunity to tour campuses throughout the state, attend summer leadership camps, participate in summer internship programs, apply for scholarships and financial aid. The Coarsegold students are shown on the Chico State campus.
