Academic Decathlon team brings home the gold again

For the tenth consecutive year, the Yosemite High School Academic Decathlon Team has won the county competition. They competed against Buena Vista, Chow-chilla, Liberty and Madera high schools.
Kimberly Usher received $200 for being the top student in the competition with 6,757 points out of a possible 10,000. She won gold medals in Essay, Language and Literature, and Art. She also won three silver medals in Speech, Music, and Science and two bronze medals in Math and Economics.

Michael McCarty received a gold medal in Speech and in Math. He also won five silver medals in Super Quiz, Music, Language and Literature, Economics, and Art.

Michael Cole earned a gold medal in Economics, a silver medal in Art and two bronze medals in Essay and Math. He also won $100 fro being the top senior scorer from YHS.

Andrea Mowrer won a gold medal in Interview, a silver medal in Essay and a bronze in Art.

Elizabeth Zielins won gold medals in Music and Science and six bronze medals in Interview, Super Quiz, Language and Literature, Math, Economics, and Art.

Patricia Amick won a bronze medal in Music and Matthew Fullerton won a bronze in Science.

Rounding out the YHS tea are Jennifer Munn and Dominic Ditomaso.
