New students urged to register during summer

Students who are new to the area are urged to register for their fall classes this summer.

Bill McCabe, superintendent of Coarsegold Union School District and Yosemite Joint Union School District says it is important for the schools to know how many students to expect when school opens August 18.

“We are able to plan much more efficiently when we know how many students to expect,” he says. “It is our goal to serve our students in the best way possible and we can do this much more effectively when we know the numbers.”

Students can register for the Coarsegold schools at the Rivergold School office this summer. It is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thurs-day; phone 658-7566. The school is located at 31800 Road 400, Coarsegold.

High school students can register at the YJUHSD office at 50200 Road 427, Oakhurst between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, phone 683-8801.
