Construction is progressing on schedule for the new music classroom building at Yosemite High School. It should be ready to occupy sometime during the fall 2003 semester.

When that building is complete and students have moved in, the current music and drama building will be remodeled into a performing arts center.

“We are pleased to be working on this phase of our construction project,” says Yosemite Joint Union High School District Superintendent Bill McCabe.

“It will be a wonderful addition to our campus to have a performing arts center, we look forward to having that completed and ready for use by the school and community.”

One new piano and one used piano were acquired last week for the music probram and performing arts center.

Work is continuing on the ball fields at the school and preliminary planning is underway to make some improvements on the track.

The district recently received a $100,000 grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board to surface the track using recycled tires.

Construction projects at the school have been possible through the passage of a bond measure in 1998.
