Tingley, alternative education staff award winner with teacher Marc Utheim.
Silvestre Gaeta and Maggie Mae Ramos were named Students of the Semester
for Spring 2003 at Ahwahnee High School. They are shown with their teacher,
Brenna Neely. The two were selected on the basis of excellent attendance,
academic skills and attitude. Mrs. Neely said Maggie will graduate one
semester early and will be taking community college classes in the fall
while she completes her credits for graduation from high school.
Numerous honors were bestowed on graduates from the Yosemite Joint Union
High School District during ceremonies June 6 for the five Alternative
Education schools and June 11 for Yosemite High School.
During the graduation ceremony for the Alternative Education schools,
Sara Tingley, a Foot-hill High School graduate, received the Staff Award
for the outstanding graduate.
During an awards ceremony the week prior to the YHS graduation, a number
of students were honored. These awards were in addition to the community
awards presented in May.
Recognized as California Scholarship Federation Life Members / National
Honor Society were: Jena Albertson, Nicholas Bryant, Brook Bull-ock, Michelle
Deckert, Mich-ael Graves, William Irizarry, Nicole Koczanowicz, Eliza-beth
Luca, Luke Millar, Alex Olsen, Jonathan Oulton, Grace Reeve, Edward Sichel,
Gregory Stewart, Elizabeth Tucker and Kahlin Wolf.
Bank of America Award winners were:
Luke Millar, Applied Arts; Karissa Rickards, Fine Arts; Elizabeth Hixson,
Liberal Arts; and Elizabeth Tucker, Science and Mathematics.
Also receiving Bank of America awards were:
Kimberlee Youman, agriculture; Katharine Napier, art; Brit-tany Sellars,
bus-iness; Jonathan Oulton, computer studies; Ashley Newton, drama; Amy
Johnson and Nicole Koczano-wicz, English; Brook Bullock, Grant Fonda,

history; Christina Schwader, home economics; Elizabeth Luca and William
Irizarry, mathematics; Christopher Gordon and Grace Reeve, music; Alex
