The
July administration of the California High School Exit Exam has been cancelled
by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell.
In a letter to district superintendents in mid-June, he said he was cancelling
the July tests in anticipation of the State Board of Education voting
to postpone the tests as a graduation requirement until 2006. The board
will vote in July.
If the board votes to delay the HSEE requirement, the September and November
administration of the tests will also be cancelled.
O’Connell is cancelling the July tests for future years also.
