Jon Corippo receives FRED award

Foundation for Rural Education Award

Jon Corippo, a Coarsegold Elementary School seventh grade teacher, was selected by the Foundation for Rural Education Development (FRED) as its outstanding educator to represent classroom teachers throughout rural America. This national award recognizes one "innovative teacher," who has begun "to find new ways to stimulate learning to meet the wide range of students' needs." The award includes $5,000 for technology upgrades and expansions at Coarsegold School. Mr. Corippo is shown with his students and with Sandy Brinley and Sherry Colgate from Sierra Telephone, the company that nominated him for the award
