Yosemite High School students will represent Madera County at the State History Day competition in Anaheim May 4 -5.

Students competed in essay, exhibit, documentary and website.

Although this is a county competition, no other high schools in the county entered projects.

Students who won first or second place will have their registration fee and lodging paid. The high school will provide transportation and students will be responsible for paying for their own food.

This year, YHS Librarian Betsy Blum, who is the county coordinator for the event, said she would like for the students who received honorable mention to be able to attend the state competition as well. Those who go will have to pay their own expenses. Funds are being accepted to help with those costs.

Anyone who would like to help the students with their expenses may make their check payable to the Educational Enhancement Foundation. Mail the check to Betsy Blum, YHS, 50200 School Road 427 Oakhurst 93644.

A commitment for funds must be received by April 6.
