Playground at Evergreen High School.

After installing the new playground
equipment at Evergreen High School, Yosemite Joint Union High School District
grounds workers tried it out. (L to R): Jeff Hartwig, Sam Parisi and Ed

The young children of the students in the Teen Parent Program at
Evergreen High School now have a playground to enjoy during the hours their
moms spend at school.
Long-time area resident Priscilla Pike donated the equipment for the
playground which was dedicated in late April.
A swing set will be installed in the near future. Yosemite Joint Union
High School District grounds workers installed the modular playground set. The
play area is covered with wood chips.
Mrs. Pike says she donated the equipment because she admires the program
the high school has for the young mothers. “The teachers and students are
exceptional,” she said. “The rapport generates the success of the program.”
Mrs. Pike, who is a certified California hearing reporter, has lived in
Oakhurst since 1989. She also lived here from the 1930s to the 1960s.
