Adult Education Schedule

Adult education classes ranging from dance to computers to knitting will be offered on the Yosemite High School campus in the coming weeks. Additional information is available on the district Web site at www.yosemiteuhsd.com, by calling 683-8801 ext. 303 or e-mailing pstmartin@yosemiteuhsd.com.

A dance workshop will be held Monday, Sept. 19 through October 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria; cost is $35. This workshop will use a basic jazz class as a jumping off point. During the five-week students will explore a variety of dance styles. The workshop is structured for adults of all ages. Dance clothes, sweats or other comfortable clothing is suggested.

Beginning Windows XP will be held Thursday, September 22 and 29 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $25. This seminar will teach students how to use Windows XP.

Intermediate Design for Flyers and Pamphlets begins Monday, October 3 and continues through October 17 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $30. This three-week class teaches how to create and design simple flyers and pamphlets using Microsoft Word. Students will also learn how to create distribution lists and mailing lists. Students need to take a zip disk or floppy disk to class.

Buying and Selling on Ebay starts Thursday, October 6 and continues to October 20 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $50.
Instruction will be given on setting up an account, listing an item and making a sale. Students will be encouraged to sell an item on Ebay. Other topics will include how to buy, how to bid and tips on increasing profits, making efficient sales, how to have a higher win percentage, advanced search tips and the use of Pay Pal. A credit card, checking account and an e-mail account are required to set up an Ebay seller account. This information, user name and password will be needed for the first class.

Intermediate Dreamweaver MX 2004 Web Page Design will be held from Wednesday, October 11 through November 15 from 6-9 p.m. in Computer Lab 32; cost is $35. This five-week class combines visual layout tools with text-base HTML editing features for the creation, management and maintenance of Web sites.

Seamless Sweaters begins Wednesday, October 12, and continues through November 16 from 6-8 p.m. in Room 22; cost is $40. This five-week class is for students who have knowledge of basic knit and pearl stitches. A supply list will be given in class.
