Yosemite High School has new athletic director

Tom Fiormonte is the new athletic director at Yosemite High School.

Tom Fiormonte will wear two hats during this upcoming season. He will divide his time between the jobs of dean of students and boys and girls athletic director. "I love to be challenged," said Fiormonti.

Mr. Fiormonte has coached a variety of athletic teams. He began his coaching career in 1980 as an assistant football coach at McFarlane High School. He was the girls’ head coach in basketball and softball at Monache High School and Porterville. He has continued to coach through this past season.

He has participated in three accreditation committees and is the past president of the Tule-Kiwanis club. He was a member of the Business Division Advisory Committee at Porter­ville College.

The new athletic director wants to help maintain the excellent athletic and academic reputation of Yosemite High School. His hobbies are reading, computers, golf and all sports. He is an avid outdoorsmen, "I love the challenges of the outdoors," Mr. Fiormonte says.
